The Joy Group (Just Over Youth) is a monthly gathering of senior adults. We meet once a month on the third Wednesday for fellowship, lunch and visiting different places such as museums, the Chrismon Tree, antique stores, Blue Ridge Mountains, Peaks of Otter, etc. There is an average attendance of 25 people. Transportation is offered by the church van for those who wish not to drive. Each month is hosted by a different person making our time always unique and exciting. We look towards the future of what God would have us to do for His Glory.
May 16 is the date for the next JOY group. We will be having a cookout at the church at 11:30am. The burgers and hot dogs will be provided, we are asking that everyone brings buns, sides, or desserts. The sign-up sheet will have a space to mark as to what category you will bring. In the event of rain, we will meet in the fellowship hall.

The members of Providence Baptist Church gather together a few days before Christmas and go caroling to the homes of our neighbors to spread the Joy of the Season and the Gospel.
Providence Baptist Church will gather together on Wednesday, December 20 to go caroling. Please come and join us. We will meet at the church at 6:30 pm, go caroling and return to the church for Hot Chocolate to warm up. Hope to see you there.
Come and join the Adult Bible Study on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. We gather each Wednesday night and study and discuss different topics found in God's Word. Some studies are video studies, other are simply an open discussion forum. Each topic of study lasts about 6 weeks. If you need a mid-week pick-me-up, don't overlook the Wednesday night Bible study. It may be just what you need.
Join us Wednesday nights at 7:00pm and let’s apply God’s word to our everyday lives. If you need encouragement and a different perspective on challenging situations in your life, this small group study is for you!
Providence Baptist Church joins each year with Mt. Zion Baptist Church to have a Community Thanksgiving Service. This service alternates each year between the churches, one year at Providence and the next year at Mt. Zion. When the Service is at Providence, the pastor of Mt. Zion provides the sermon and then the service is at Mt. Zion, the pastor of Providence provides the sermon. The service is held on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
Providence Baptist Church participates annually in the STOP HUNGER NOW International project joining with various churches in the area. The event gathers non-perishable food items to be packed in boxes and distributed around the world. We then gather at a church to pack boxes to send out. The churches rotate each year as to where the packing event is held. Stop Hunger Now is based in Raleigh, NC and have presently packaged nearly 250,000,000 meals
