IN AS MUCH is a week long project of Providence Baptist Church based on Matthew 25:40 that takes place in the fall, usually in October. This project is made up of various activities that include wood cutting, dinners with friends, the annual free yard sale, and any other needs that may arise.
In the New Testament, Jesus gives us examples of how we are expected to serve our fellow man while we are here on earth. This local mission opportunity offers something for everyone. Regardless of your age, physical condition, or work schedule. Based on Matthew 25:40, “Verily, I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”, Project Inasmuch is our opportunity to show the love of Christ in a practical way right here in Red House.
In a desire to help meet the needs of those in our area, each year Providence Baptist Church holds a free yard sale. Items are donated by Providence and given with love to those that need them. The free yard sale is held at the Red House Fire Department each year. This year the yard sale will be on September 16, from 9am - 12pm. A large variety of items are always available. All are welcome.
Providence Baptist Church sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt for all children from birth to 5th grade. This event takes place on the Saturday before Easter Sunday every year at the church at 10:00 am. Volunteers are asked to take provided plastic eggs and fill them with candy or make candy donations to the cause. They are also asked to assist in hiding the eggs in the morning before the hunt.
This year the hunt will be on March 31, 2018 at 10am with a hot dog cookout afterwards.
Sports camp is a week-long, free, summer day camp for children in grades K through 5. The children spend each morning for a week learning the basics of basketball, baseball or softball, soccer, football, and other sports and activities (like an obstacle course). Each day includes instruction in three or four sports, a craft activity, a Bible lesson, and a healthy snack. Kids learn sports skills, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and how to relate God’s word to their everyday lives.
Providential Kidz choir is an engaging hour of music and Bible study for children ages 3 and up on Wednesday evenings. Each year, this group prepares and performs a Christmas musical and participates in occasional worship leadership on Sunday mornings. We focus on high-energy songs children can relate to that allow the truths of God’s word to penetrate their hearts and minds through songs, motions, and the spoken word. Kids also gain self-confidence as they have opportunities to sing solos and perform drama parts in our productions under the direction of loving adult volunteers
